Welcome to Guitar River! This site is run by Doug Green. I started playing guitar in my teens, took a little break as an adult, and I’m now getting back into it.

This site is about answering all those random questions I had when first starting, and the questions I have now as I dive deeper into guitar playing.

The electric guitar is a seemingly straightforward device. Some people just play it and don’t worry about how it works. Others want to know every last detail.

As you get into playing, it’s impossible not to want to learn more about your instrument of choice. We’ll take a look at what makes the electric guitar unique.
